The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of SDLC, STLC, and testing tools like Selenium and JIRA. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential. Responsibilities
- Understanding and analyzing software requirements.
- Assisting in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Documenting test results and reporting issues to developers.
- Performing manual testing on web, mobile, and desktop applications.
- Assisting in automation testing using tools like Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG.
- Running regression tests to ensure stability after updates.
- Identifying, documenting, and reporting bugs using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or Trello.
- Working closely with developers to reproduce and resolve defects.
- Assisting in performance testing using JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Understanding security testing basics and reporting vulnerabilities.
- Working with development teams to understand software functionalities.
- Learning about agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
- Participating in team meetings, test reviews, and feedback sessions.
Requirements
- Pursuing or completed a degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of software development and testing concepts.
- Understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).
- Basic programming knowledge (Python, Java, or C# is a plus).
- Familiarity with database queries (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with bug tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla.
- Basic knowledge of test automation tools (Selenium, Appium, Postman).
- Exposure to version control tools like Git/GitHub.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and follow testing procedures.
